Escape to Würzburg: Charming 3-Anna Apartment Awaits!
Okay, buckle up buttercups, because we're diving deep into the labyrinthine wonderland that is reviewing a hotel! And let's be honest, nobody wants a robotic, corporate-speak review. So, consider this more like a chaotic, yet hopefully helpful, chat with a travel-obsessed friend. This is a review of [Insert Hotel Name Here]!
First Impression Frenzy (and the Accessibility Angle):
Right, so, walking in… [Insert Hotel Name Here]… it looks swanky. Real swanky. And you know me, I judge a book by its cover (and the lobby’s air conditioning!). Accessibility, accessibility, accessibility. That's the mantra, right? I'm hyper-aware because I'm fine, but you never know who's travelling with you. And [Insert Hotel Name Here] does… okay.
- Wheelchair Accessible: Yes! That's a great start: ramps, elevators, the works. However, I did notice a slightly tight squeeze around one of the pool-side tables. Just a heads-up.
- Elevator? Yep! And praise be, it was actually working. (Hotel horror stories, am I right?)
- On-site accessible restaurants/lounges? Bingo! Marked! This is important for those with mobility issues.
- Everything Else Accessibility-Related: A mixed bag. They say they have it, but sometimes the execution feels a little… well-intentioned is probably the best word. It's worth calling ahead and being very specific about your needs. Don't be shy!
- Facilities for disabled guests: Check that box. Though, again, ask detailed questions.
Tech Titans and "Free Wi-Fi in All Rooms!":
Oh, the internet. The bane of my existence (and a vital necessity).
- Free Wi-Fi in All Rooms!: Yessssss! And it actually worked. For the most part. There were a couple of moments where I wanted to scream, but hey, it's the digital age.
- Internet: Good speeds, generally stable. I managed to stream a movie (thank God!), which is a win in my book.
- Internet [LAN]: Seems they have this too. For the old-school folks who still like wires. I'm all about the wireless revolution, but options are good.
- Internet Services: They offer a few extras, but I didn't dive deep.
- Wi-Fi in public areas: Pretty solid. No complaints.
"Things to Do" & The Relaxation Realm (aka, My Happy Place):
Okay, so this is where [Insert Hotel Name Here] really tries to shine. Let's break it down, shall we?
- Pool with view: YES! This was the absolute highlight. Seriously gorgeous. I spent a solid afternoon just floating, staring at the… well, the view. (Location, Location, Location!)
- Swimming pool: Multiple pools; all clean and inviting. Sunbathing is a serious sport at this hotel.
- Swimming pool [outdoor]: As above.
- Spa: Standard spa stuff, but the ambiance was great.

Alright, buckle up buttercups, because this isn't your perfectly-curated Instagram travel feed. This is real life, Würzburg edition. And it's happening from the base camp of Ferienwohnung 3 ANNA IFF (which, bless its minimalist heart, is going to be my temporary kingdom).
Würzburg: A Messy, Glorious Adventure - A.K.A. "Operation Bratwurst & Baroque"
Day 1: Arrival & the "Oh My God, I Forgot My Travel Pillow!" Debacle
- 14:00: Arrive in Würzburg. Train journey was…a journey. Let's just say the guy sitting next to me ate a whole block of cheese (seriously, the whole thing) and I'm pretty sure his backpack was home to a family of squirrels. I arrived in a state of mild existential dread.
- 15:00: Find Ferienwohnung 3 ANNA IFF. Key pickup was easier than expected (thank you, kind landlord!). This place is…small. Efficiently small. Let's call it "cozy." And OMG, I forgot my travel pillow. Panic. Absolute, unadulterated panic. How am I supposed to sleep without my fluffy neck fortress?! (Note to self: find German pharmacy IMMEDIATELY.)
- 16:00: Quick unpack. The tiny shower feels more like a confession booth than a place to wash, but at least it has hot water. Survey the surroundings. The view from the window? Stunning. Makes up for the sock drawer-sized bedroom.
- 17:00: First foray into the Altstadt (Old Town). HOLY MOLY. Picturesque doesn't even begin to cover it. The colours! The buildings! The cobblestones ready to trip me at any moment. Immediate urge to spin around and yell "I'M IN WÜRZBURG!" but resisted for the sake of looking remotely sane.
- 18:00: The Würzburg Residence (UNESCO World Heritage! Highfalutin stuff!). Walked around with my jaw perpetually dropped. The size of the place is staggering! The ceilings! The art! The sheer audacity of baroque architecture! My brain is officially overloaded. Had to sit down for a moment. Honestly, I'm not sure if I'm more impressed by the art or by the fact that people lived here. With actual responsibilities.
- 19:00: Dinner: Found a biergarten (beer garden!), which is basically a beer-soaked paradise. Ordered a bratwurst and a local beer. The bratwurst was glorious, a symphony of porky perfection. The beer…stronger than expected. Probably the reason I started talking to a squirrel who looked like he was trying to sell me a timeshare on a walnut. (Again, the guy on the train's cheese-induced hallucinations are starting to hit me as well).
- 21:00: Attempted to find a pharmacy for a travel pillow. Fail. Turns out, pharmacies are closed on Sundays (Rookie mistake, tourist!). Embrace the neck ache. Embrace the imminent exhaustion. Sleep is going to be…interesting.
Day 2: Residenz Re-run (and the Quest for Comfort)
- 08:00: Woke up with a crick in my neck that rivals the Grand Canyon. Damn it, pillow!. Made a cup of instant coffee (the only thing that resembles morning rituals in this small apartment).
- 09:00: Residenz II: Determined to see more of the Residence, I spent the morning wandering around again, This time I was more awake and saw more of the details. I got super sentimental about the art and about the history. It was a really strong experience.
- 11:00: The Main Bridge (Alte Mainbrücke): This is where the real fun begins! It's the perfect place to admire the beauty of the city. Plus, walking across it, you're bound to run into a few characters.
- 12:00: Lunch: Found a charming little restaurant on the bridge. I'm really not sure what I ordered, but it was delicious!
- 13:00: Walking through the city: After lunch I enjoyed the beautiful weather by taking a tour of the city! Everything was within walking distance so it was manageable! I was particularly impressed by the architecture.
- 15:00: Wine tasting! Würzburg is in Franconia, which is known for its wine. The Franconian wines are very different from those from Tuscany. The wines were housed in Bocksbeutel. Absolutely fascinating!
- 17:00: Pharmacy run (FINALLY!). SUCCESS! Found a travel pillow! (Victory dance in the aisle, slightly embarrassing).
- 18:00: Dinner: Decided to get the Schnitzel with mushroom sauce. Delicious!
- 20:00: Late-night walk: Even now, walking through the city is inspiring.
Day 3: Fortress Marienberg and the River Main "Misadventure"
- 09:00: Fortress Marienberg: This place is another "WOW" moment. The views are incredible, and the fortress itself is a labyrinth of history. I spent a solid two hours exploring.
- 12:00: Lunch: I tried some German food, which I actually really enjoyed!
- 13:00: River Main boat trip: Sounded like a relaxing idea, right? Wrong. Turns out, I get seasick! On a river! Spent most of the trip clutching a barf bag and wishing I’d brought some ginger snaps. The views were still nice, though, when I could actually look at them.
- 15:00: The Wine Culture: I have to admit the wine-tasting experience was fascinating. The Bocksbeutels are quite distinctive. I've now tried a range of wines!
- 17:00: Rest and recuperation: Needed some quiet time after the boat "adventure."
- 19:00: Dinner: Tried a different restaurant.
Day 4: Departure – A Sad Farewell…and a Vow to Return (with a Better Travel Pillow)
- 08:00: Reluctantly packed my bags. The apartment has grown on me, imperfections and all. Maybe the shower is okay. The view is definitely okay.
- 09:00: Final stroll through the Altstadt. One last Bratwurst (of course). One last look at the Residenz (because, why not?).
- 11:00: Head to the train station.
- 12:00: Train bound for…well, somewhere that isn’t Würzburg.
- 14:00: Reflecting on the trip. Würzburg: you were messy, beautiful, and full of surprises. I'll be back. And I'll bring a better travel pillow. And maybe some seasickness pills. And definitely a bigger suitcase for all the souvenirs (and cheese that the train-guy didn't eat).
